Does Anybody Know the Answer?

Can anyone offer a guess about how many people are in Blue Star right now. I am looking for an estimate, not a firm number. All levels. Thanks!

I believe I can list ~90 B* folks off the top of my head at the moment, and as I flushed out the list with some estimates, I got to about 100. On top of that, I would hazard that there are at least some people that I don't know, haven't run across on LJ, don't know from the times before me who are still practicing, or otherwise missed. So I would guess ~125-150.

But that's just my guesstimate.

That's the approximate number I have in my head, as well. I'm never sure how much to account for isolated downlines, when we don't know whether they've thrived or died out - but any extras there are balanced out by people who've left, so I still think 150 is a good guess.

I realize that you have absolutely no way of knowing the number. Yet, on some primal level, you're probably closer to the right answer than anything anyone else could come up with. You, shaman, you!

I'm with you. My initial guesstimate would be 350-400 who consider themselves B*.

There are approx. 150 addresses subscribed to the various B* "official" lists. Some of them represent a whole coven; a few people have multiple addresses. So somewhere around 150-200 is probably closer.

150 unique addresses? Then I'd say 150-200 is a very conservative number because there are *quite* a few people not subscribed to any list.
